Privacy policy

Information the app uses

The app may process your name, email address, public display name and biography, saved journeys, vehicle profiles, checklists, passport stamps, backups, stories, photographs, follows, comments, notifications, reports and privacy choices. Location is used only when you ask the app to use your current position or enter a place for route planning.

Where information is stored

Some information is stored locally in your browser or installed app. When you sign in or use cloud features, account information and selected content are stored in the app’s Supabase project. Booking confirmation files currently remain in your browser. Videos selected in Video Studio are processed in your browser and are not uploaded by this feature.

AI Adventure Builder

When a signed-in user chooses the AI Adventure Builder, the starting location, trip description and a catalogue of available destinations are sent securely to OpenAI to create the requested plan. Do not include passwords, payment details or other sensitive personal information in an AI request. AI plans, routes and budgets may contain errors and must be checked before travelling.

Public stories and community

A story marked Public may be shown to other app users with its photograph, location, title, text, date and chosen display name. Public profiles, follow relationships and visible comments may also be seen by other users. Notifications and submitted reports are restricted by account access rules. Email addresses are not displayed through community profiles. A story marked Private is restricted to its owner under the app’s database rules.

Services used

Netlify hosts the app. Supabase provides accounts, database, community records and photo storage. OpenAI processes requests submitted through the AI Adventure Builder. OpenStreetMap/Nominatim, OSRM or Mapbox may process location and route requests. Open-Meteo provides weather. Google Maps receives route details only when you choose to open navigation. These providers may receive technical information such as your IP address under their own privacy policies.

Why information is processed

Information is used to provide accounts, routes, saved trips, AI-generated plans, backups, stories, community interactions, moderation, app administration, support and security. We do not sell personal information.

Your choices and rights

You can use many features without an account, choose whether a story is public, turn comments on or off, unfollow users, delete your own stories, comments and trips, and request access, correction or deletion of account data. For a privacy request, email gbca.support@gmail.com. We may need to confirm account ownership before acting.

Security and retention

Reasonable access controls are used, but no internet service is completely secure. Information is kept while needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, moderate misuse or resolve security issues. Account deletion is handled on request during beta testing.

Children

The account and community features are not intended for children under 13. A parent or guardian should supervise younger users.

Terms of use

By using the app, you agree to use it lawfully and responsibly. The app is currently a beta travel-planning service and may change or contain errors.

Route and safety warning

Routes, distances, weather, traffic, opening information and recommendations are guides only. Always follow road signs, official warnings and local restrictions. Check tides, weather, access, parking rules, campsite permission, low bridges, road width, weight limits and vehicle suitability. Do not interact with the app while driving.

Overnight stops

A suggested overnight area is not a promise that overnight parking or camping is permitted. Obtain permission and check current signs and local rules.

User and community content

You remain responsible for profiles, stories, photographs and comments you submit and must have the right to share them. Do not upload illegal, abusive, threatening, misleading, spam, unsafe or privacy-invasive content, and do not publish another person’s private information. Public content may be displayed to other users until it is deleted or made private. Users may report comments, and content or accounts may be restricted or removed to protect the community.

Accounts

Keep your password secure and provide accurate account information. Accounts or public content may be restricted or removed to protect users, comply with law or prevent misuse.

External services

The app links to mapping, booking and other third-party services. Their availability, content, prices and terms are outside our control.

Liability

The app is provided without a guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under UK law. These terms are governed by the laws applicable in England and Wales.

When reporting a problem, include the device, browser, route, what you expected and what happened. Do not email passwords, payment information or sensitive identity documents.

Beta testing

The app is still being tested. Feedback helps improve routes, phone layouts, accounts and destination information.
